SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – June 3, 2019
Certiport, a ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ VUE business and the leading provider of performance-based IT certification exams that accelerate academic and career opportunities for learners, today announced NABU as the client for the .
NABU is a non-profit organization that aims to eradicate illiteracy through an online reading platform. By offering training for writers and illustrators, they create original local language books that support children in learning how to read.
“Globally there is a severe shortage of local language books at the early grade levels, and as a result, children are not learning how to read,” said Isabel Sheinman, Co-Creator and Director, NABU. “Our solution at NABU is to create original local stories that support children in reading and rising to their full potential. We distribute these stories through our low-bandwidth reading app, democratizing access to literacy. We are pleased to partner with Certiport and Adobe to further that mission as the client for the ACA World Championship. We look forward to seeing the inspiring projects the finalists create.
” Certiport and Adobe sponsor the ACA World Championship and expect more than 200,000 entries worldwide, with more than 20 countries represented at the final round of the ACA World Championship in New York, NY from July 28-31, 2019. The ACA World Championship is designed to showcase digital communication skills and promote industry certification.
For their final challenge, ACA World Championship competitors will be asked to envision that they have been hired by NABU for a design project. In just eight hours, the students will use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign to craft marketing materials based on a creative brief outlining client goals and requirements, as well as visual assets like NABU’s logo and imagery.
“Every year we work with a non-profit to give the ACA World Championship student finalists a real-world design challenge that demonstrates their grasp of the Adobe Creative Cloud,” said Ray Murray, Vice President and General Manager – IT, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ VUE. “We are inspired by NABU and their work to promote literacy and we look forward to seeing the creative projects the finalists create to further their mission.”
“At Adobe, we believe that creativity is the catalyst for positive change, which is why we’re excited that the students will be working with NABU this year,” said Tacy Trowbridge, Global Education Programs Lead at Adobe. “We hope they are inspired by NABU’s efforts to improve literacy worldwide, and that they continue to use their design skills for social impact after the championship.”
A first ($7,000), second ($3,500) and third ($1,500) place ACA World Champion will be chosen based on a panel of judges reviewing the final design projects. Visit for more information.
