SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – July 30, 2019
Certiport, a ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ VUE business and the leading provider of performance-based IT certification exams that accelerate academic and career opportunities for learners, today announced the availability of new Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams for Office 365 and Office 2019. As the official standards-based certification for validating Microsoft Office skills, the new exams will include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook on both the Office 365 and Office 2019 platforms.
Microsoft Office Specialist exams are performance-based, timed, and completed live-in-the-application to validate in-demand, career-relevant, workforce skills with Microsoft Office applications. The new Office 365 and Office 2019 certification exams have been mapped to a set of revised objective domains to reflect the skills required in today’s modern workplace and now include new Office features such as 3D models, morph animations, slide zooms, new Excel functionality and improved accessibility features.
“We continue to see a great demand in the workplace for individuals with Microsoft Office skills, and our goal with the Microsoft Office Specialist program is to ensure that every certified user has demonstrated the ability to command the full features and functionality of Microsoft Office,” said Ray Murray, Vice President and General Manager – IT, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ VUE. “Earning Office 365 and Office 2019 certification validates current skills, empowering students to complete their academic assignments with greater ease or employees to be more productive as they use Office technology on the job.”
The Microsoft Office Specialist program has two levels: Associate and Expert. Individuals will continue to earn a certification for each exam they pass, and if they earn any three of the four available associate level certifications for Office technologies they will become a Microsoft Office Specialist-Associate and earn an additional certification for their accomplishment. After earning the Microsoft Office Specialist-Associate certificate, individuals who go one step further and earn any two of the three expert level certifications will become a Microsoft Office Specialist-Expert and achieve the highest certification in the MOS program.
“Technology changes rapidly and it is important for schools and businesses alike to evolve to Office 365 or Office 2019 to enhance their productivity and acquire the updated skills needed in the workplace today,” said Anthony Salcito, Vice President, Education, at Microsoft. “We work closely with our exam delivery partners at Certiport to ensure the MOS program gives students a credential that will take their knowledge of Office to the next level. Earning a Microsoft certification that is recognized worldwide is a great starting point for a lifetime of technology skills acquisition and career readiness.”
